TWO members of staff with almost seven decades of service have retired from White and Company in Forres.
Norman Ralph, initially a driver and latterly a depot supervisor, and Fiona Murphy, an administrator, worked at the Forres company for a combined 68 years.
Norman retired after 40 years at the end of October and was given a fitting send-off alongside Fiona, who retired after 28 years, at an event at the Mosset Tavern on Thursday, November 24.
"They are both very dedicated, professional and thorough in their duties," branch manager David Christie, who has been with the company 29 years, said.
"They are two staff you'd cut your hand off for. They have been fantastic servants to the company and are worthy of long, happy retirements.
"They are personable, approachable and do-anything-for-you folk. No job was ever a bother for them. They are genuinely nice people, in and outside of work."
"Their lengths of service are unprecedented in these times."
The two were paid a visit by Ian Palmer, chief executive of White and Company, who is based in Southampton and came up for the occasion.
Mr Palmer made the decision to employ Norman back in 1982 and Fiona in 1995, before moving away from the area.
"He took them both on so it was fitting that he was there to see them off," David Christie added.
Norman is a big fan of Mini Coopers and received a print of cars he has previously owned from colleagues at the branch.
Fiona received a couple of nights away somewhere of her choice, as well as flowers.
Both will also received a monetary gift from White and Company's head office to thank them for their long service.
