For the first time the council’s RBdigital platform is allowing library members access to eComics.

The selection features characters suitable for various ages, from Mickey Mouse to Marvel heroes.

Unable to access physical library books during the current pandemic, Moray readers are increasingly turning to the digital world to get their literary fix.

Since the start of the coronavirus crisis there's been a 400% increase in the number of people accessing books online via Moray Council's library service.

Sign-ups to the RBdigital platform, which gives library members access to eBooks and eAudiobooks, rose to 133 in April.

Anticipating this upturn, the library service has added titles for young children and teenagers.

A wider range of crime novels and general fiction have also been sourced for adults.

A Moray Council spokesperson said: "Registration to use these resources is quick and easy using your Moray Libraries membership card number.

"To set up your initial RBdigital account follow the instructions on the Moray Council website inserting the letters MC before your membership number.

"Non-members can apply to join online."
