A DOUBLE-DECKER bus converted into a youth centre will roll into Moray towns next week.

Local churches are behind the drive to bring the Eden Bus to the area – a high-tech mobile youth centre equipped with multimedia games, hang-out spaces and a climbing wall.

The bus will stop at various locations in and around Elgin from Sunday, July 28 to Saturday, August 3.

Bellie and Speymouth minister the Rev Seoras Orr said: "The Eden Bus has been brought to Moray by local churches who want to provide support for young people in their area and build friendships with them. Connections across generations and face-to-face friendships are so important for kids and teenagers, and so we as the Church want to make an effort towards this."

The bus will be parked for a few hours at each location, staffed by local teams. There is no entry fee. The team will introduce activities, let youngsters know about church and community groups that could benefit them, and encourage them to build friendships and have fun.

The bus will be at Speyfest on Sunday, parked outside the Celtic Kirk service for the afternoon, and remain in the Fochabers area on Monday. It will visit Mosstodloch, Lhanbryde, Urqhuart, Garmouth, Spey Bay and Portgordon on Tuesday and Wednesday. And on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons the bus will be at Elgin High School, where the street pastors will be present.
