This tasty replica of Edinburgh Castle contains no fewer than 2933 pieces of Walker's shortbread.

Its creator is Prudence Staite who's making a name for herself as a 'food artist'.

Her castle will be on display at Aberdeen Airport until the end of October, by which time it will have been viewed by an estimated 250,000 passengers.

The display is a response to the increasing demand amongst visitors for heritage products, with sales of Walker’s shortbread in airports rising by 150% during the past year alone.

Sarah Macaulay, the family firm's head of marketing, said: "It's a very busy period at the airport as the city welcomes business executives attending the SPE Offshore Europe event.

"We're sure our shortbread experience will delight them as they head home, with room in their suitcases for a delicious reminder of Scotland."
