ELGIN Academy’s annual Christmas farmers’ market is set to make a grand return next week thanks to the hard work of S2 students.

Families, friends, and members of the public are invited to visit the school’s assembly hall and celebrate the festive season at the event, which will take place on Thursday, December 14, from 10am until 2.30pm.

Visitors can browse and enjoy a range of food items and crafts that the students have created alongside home economics teacher Karen Ainslie.

She praised the efforts of the students and achievements in independently organising and promoting the market and their creations.

Ms Ainslie said: “This event is a highlight of our school calendar and not to be missed.”

Local businesses including Fochabers Ice Cream Parlour, Wester Hardmuir Fruit Farm, Greaves Honey and Covesea Candles will also have stalls at the event.

A highlight of the available products will be the Christmas tree decorations the students have made with the school’s laser printer.

Live music will be performed on the day by some of the school’s pupils, and a barista service provided by the students will be open to purchase refreshments.
