ELGIN Amateur Boxing Club has donated £300 and a number of food items to Moray Food Plus.

Head coach Paul Gordon explained that the club put on extra sessions and donated the cash gained to the food bank.

He said: "We had our last boxing sessions last week for the year and we were going to start back on January 4.

"However, the lockdown announcement put that on hold.

"So we decided to do three extra sessions this week and donate the subscriptions to charity.

"The club itself is a registered charity but there is always someone more in need and with this in mind coach Iain Goldie suggested donating to Moray Food Plus."

"The club raised £300 and a large amount of food as well."
