Elgin City Band's annual carol concert is taking place at St Giles Church this Sunday from 7pm onwards.

Formed all the way back in 1858, the brass band is part of Elgin's history.

This is the 20th year that it has staged these festive concerts.

Band member Heather Park said: "As usual it should be a very pleasant evening for those who come along.

"It's all very light-hearted with a mixture of seasonal items from the band and, of course, audience participation in the carol singing.

"There is a wonderful bonus in that Elgin Academy orchestra and choir are going to come and perform too,

"In fact we intend to play an item along with the orchestra which will be fun for all of us."

Matt Bailey from Fraserburgh will be wielding the baton as the band's regular conductor Bob Garrity is recovering from an operation.
