Elgin City striker Kane Hester denies getting booked deliberately to defraud bookies with his friends

ELGIN City striker Kane Hester has gone on trial, along with three other men, accused of conspiring to defraud a betting company of £13,583.

Hester (25), denies deliberately getting booked against Hibs in a cup match on July 26, 2019.

Hester, Findlay Soutar, Calvin Parrot and Brodie Myers, all of Montrose, are accused of obtaining unlawful winnings of £13,583.

All four have denied the charges against them and their trial is ongoing at Dundee Sheriff Court.

They are alleged to have placed five separate bets on Mr Hester being booked with Bet365.

The trial, before Sheriff Paul Brown, is ongoing.
