Elgin fiddle festival was a great success
Sweet symphonies could be heard from the Elgin Parish Church as it held the Elgin Strathspey and Reel Fiddle Festival last month.
Children from around the area took part in the competition with many taking home medals donated by Rotary Elgin.
Festival Secretaries, Louise McLean and Jim Hogg said: “We are delighted to be able to continue running this competition for everyone who loves Scottish music, young and old.
“A huge thank you to the teachers who are working very hard to ensure that traditional Scottish music is being encouraged and nurtured in this area.”
The adjudicator of the competition, Raemond Jappy, travelled from Aberdeen had a “task on his hands” but the festival secretaries described him as doing a “sterling job” with plenty of constructive feedback.
The audience also enjoyed guest performances from Mike Morgan and Gary Coull.
