Elgin footpath closure in Batchen Street extended for another eight days due to dangerous building

THE closure of a footpath in the centre of Elgin will be extended for another eight days due to a dangerous building.

The path outside Sirology in Batchen Street will now be closed from Friday, February 24 to Friday, March 3.

The building above the businesses sustained some damage during Storm Otto and repairs have still to be carried out, although some remedial work has been done.

Sirology, owned by Richard Cumming, is still operating.

Sirology and other nearby businesses are still operating as normal.

Meanwhile, another footpath at Kinneddar Street, Lossiemouth will be closed for five days from Monday, February 27 to Friday, March 3 to allow street lighting to be repaired.
