OUTDOOR learning organisation Outfit Moray are "hugely grateful" to an Elgin group's fitness efforts which raised nearly £700 for the charity.

Artiquins are an Elgin-based creative arts group supporting adults with learning disabilities.

Since May, Outfit Moray have worked closely with the group, providing them with adaptive cycling sessions, alongside the charity’s Bike Revolution project delivery manager, Donna Brown.

Donna said: "We use a variety of adapted bikes from trikes, tandems, hand cycles and recumbent bikes, which offer a range of adaptive cycling options to meet the different needs of Artiquins’ clients.

"These sessions have enabled everyone to learn new skills and grow in confidence and it’s been great to watch them all develop."

Because of this, Artiquins decided to give something back by undertaking a 500-mile fitness challenge throughout September to raise money for the organisation.

This would be achieved through fitness classes with assistance from local fitness experts and organisations.

Aritiquins staff member, Gemma Pirie, said: "Outfit Moray has been very good to us and we just wanted to show our appreciation."

By the end of the month, the group were delighted to announce they had completed their goal and had raised £680.

Gemma added: "Everyone loved trying new and different activities and worked so hard to reach their target.

"The whole challenge had such a positive impact on everyone’s health and wellbeing.

"It really was a fantastic month."

Outfit Moray were very happy to receive the generous donation and proud of the Artiquins’ members hard work and achievements.

Donna said: "We loved working with Artiquins’ staff and clients, who are always so excited and keen to cycle.

"We are hugely grateful for their incredible fundraising."
