AN Elgin nursery has received near perfect grades following an Education Scotland inspection.
Jack and Jill Nursery School, which is owned and managed by the Torridon Education Group, was awarded five grades of "very good" in a report published yesterday.
Inspectors commended staff on their commitment to helping children make the "best progress possible".
The nursery's ability to encourage children to "explore, investigate and use their imaginations" was also highlighted as a positive.
Meanwhile, its adoption of "child-centred" learning based on their ideas and interests was praised as well as the staff's ability to motivate children to learn.
The inspection also found that there are "strong and productive" partnerships with families and external agencies which ensure that children art well supported in their development.
A spokesperson for the Torridon Education Group said: "We are absolutely delighted to finally be able to share our VERY GOOD Education Scotland report.
"We are incredibly proud of our team and are so pleased that the hard work, dedication, teaching, care and support that they provide on a daily basis has been recognised."
Despite an overwhelmingly positive report, inspectors identified areas where slight improvements could be made.
That included developing "next steps in learning" which are individualised for each child at the nursery to ensure that they are appropriately challenged.
But the report added that inspectors were "confident" that the nursery will continue to improve stating that there will be no more visits in connection with the inspection.
