The director of Elgin Amateur Dramatic Society's latest panto has paid tribute to the show's cast.

Audiences packed into Elgin Town Hall for five performances of The Snow Queen last week.

The show, written and directed by Amanda Craib, was the culmination of five months of rehearsals.

Amanda said: "It was great to be part of a big community event that really brought everyone together.

"The atmosphere at the town hall was electric and everyone on stage and behind the scenes did themselves proud

"It was the best fun. The cast were rehearsing since August and became like a second family."

The panto overcome a mishap when Lesley Oman who played Maia, one of the guardians of Spring, ended up in A&E on the Saturday and so missed the last two performances.

However, Allwyn Valentine, the show's choreographer, stepped into the breach and read the part to great acclaim.

Amanda said: "We all missed Lesley because she's such a great personality, but Allwyn did a great job as well and the audience really took to her.

"It was also very nice to see the young people who'd come to the panto wanting to have their photos taken with the cast after the show.

"It was lovely to witness how much they enjoyed it.

"I'd also like to say a big thank-you to all the community groups who got involved, such as the, scouts, the beavers and the Greyfriars club.

Amanda has already written Elgin Amateur Dramatic Society's next festive offering for 2024.
