The Qismat on Elgin High Street is set to shut until March.

AN ELGIN restaurant is set to close for around a month for 'exciting' refurbishment works.

Qismat, an Indian restaurant on the high street, will close on February 5 and reopen at an as-of-yet unspecified date in March.

Director Atif Ali was keen to keep the exact details of the refurb hush, but said it was exciting makeover.

"The front of the restaurant is getting gutted out and refurbished," he said.

"I don't want to give too much away as we want the customers to be surprised.

"But the flooring, tables, and cutlery will all be changed and the layout of the booths is getting changed."

Qismat will also be closed for takeaway and delivery while the restaurant is closed.

"We appreciate everyone's understanding and patience during this time," Atif added. "We can't wait to welcome you back in March."
