Elgin Rotary Club members have learned how just £15 can rescue a person from blindness.

The latest speaker at the club's online meetings was Alan Wink, who's an ambassador in the north for Global Sight Solutions.

This charity provides free eye care in India, Africa and other developing countries, where the cost of providing a cataract operation can be the equivalent of just £15.

Alan, who's a Rotarian from Aberdeen, also told how Global Sight Solutions has invested in steps to avoid blindness with improved sanitation and clean water supplies.

The vote of thanks was given by Jeff Hyland.
