The event, set to take place in Cooper Park, aims to raise crucial funds to support Rotary International's ongoing efforts to eradicate polio worldwide.

Rotary President Michelle Anderson said: "Rotary International commenced their End Polio Now campaign some 35 years ago and during that time, through extensive vaccine programmes throughout the world, huge progress has been achieved. However, with cases still being reported in Pakistan and Afghanistan we cannot be complacent and must continue efforts towards a world totally free of the disease”

The Walk a Mile event will begin at Grant Lodge at 11am and is open to participants of all ages. The walk costs just £1 for entry and attendees can also purchase teas, coffees and more after the event.
