An Elgin shop has been named as Male Grooming Retailer of the Year at the Scotland Prestige Awards.

Sirology on Batchen Street sets out to cater for the modern man.

Having started up in business almost seven years ago, it has grown in the time since to now stock 600 different product lines.

These include all sorts of men's grooming, haircare and skincare products, plus lifestyle accessories.

Richard Cumming, Sirology's owner, said: "I absolutely love running a shop. You feel like you're a real part of the community.

"Also, I like dealing with people and trying to help.

"A lot of the guys who come in don't necessarily know the names of the products that they're looking for, or how to use them.

"Here, they can have a look-around in an environment that's relaxed and comfortable."

Richard added: "Sirology is available online, but we're also here in Elgin for people who like to shop in person.

"When we opened back in October 2016 there were eight empty units along Batchen Street – there are none now, and that's also the case over in Commerce Street.

"It was a gamble but I believe people in Moray want to be able to find things locally that are a bit different, whether for themselves or to buy as gifts for others."

The Prestige Awards celebrate small and medium-sized businesses that provide a personal approach to their customers.
