ELGIN’S annual Modelfair returns to the town hall this weekend with a variety of exhibits for the whole family to enjoy.
Elgin Town Hall is set to have every room filled with 32 exhibits from a wide range of local model societies.
Exhibits include trains, planes, boats and automobiles – and there will also be Meccano and war-gaming set ups.
The event is an opportunity for the public to enjoy a shared interest in modelling whilst supporting the Elgin Model Railway Club.
The club, formed in 1987, boasts a membership of 36 train-enthusiasts. This is their second Modelfair since the Covid pandemic.
Andrew Allardyce, the railway club’s secretary, said: "The hard work begins around Easter when we send out invites to our members and regulars.
“In summer we begin to play with the layouts, and now everything seems to be in place for the event.
"It's a nice rewarding feeling on the Sunday night when it has all gone well."
After Duncan MacRae’s recent departure from the role of exhibition manager, Colin Williamson will be stepping in and leading his first Modelfair.
As well as the exhibition, there will be a buffet and a variety of hobby suppliers.
The event will run on Saturday, November 4, from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, November 5, from 10am to 4pm.
There is no presale for tickets as they are available at the door during the weekend.
An adult ticket is £8, seniors are £6 and children are £4. Under 5s go for free, while family tickets are £20.
