ELGIN will be represented at this year's Asian Restaurant Awards in Edinburgh.

Finalists for the awards night – due to take place at The Sheraton Grand Hotel in the capital on September 18 – have been announced and include Elgin's Spice Tandoori.

More than 10,000 people were voted online for their favourites eateries in several regions across Scotland.

Establishments are being visited by a panel of judges from the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) to determine the winners for both national and regional award categories.

ACF Chairman Yawar Khan said: “We are seeing some remarkable creativity by pioneering restaurateurs and chefs, adapting to challenging trading conditions and more sophisticated customer preferences, showcasing Scotland's world-leading produce, especially its seafood, game, neeps and tatties."
