ELGIN will be represented at this year's Asian Restaurant Awards in Edinburgh.
Finalists for the awards night – due to take place at The Sheraton Grand Hotel in the capital on September 18 – have been announced and include Elgin's Spice Tandoori.
More than 10,000 people were voted online for their favourites eateries in several regions across Scotland.
Establishments are being visited by a panel of judges from the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) to determine the winners for both national and regional award categories.
ACF Chairman Yawar Khan said: “We are seeing some remarkable creativity by pioneering restaurateurs and chefs, adapting to challenging trading conditions and more sophisticated customer preferences, showcasing Scotland's world-leading produce, especially its seafood, game, neeps and tatties."
There are new award categories for Best Brunch and Afternoon Chai. The awards night will be presented by BBC News' Samantha Simmonds.
The complete shortlist, featuring more than 70 of the nation's leading Asian restaurants and takeaways, can be viewed at www.asianrestaurantawards.org
