CHILDREN can sign up for elf training in the run-up to Christmas at a Moray castle.

Brodie Castle will be hosting an Elf Academy as well as a visit from Santa himself.

Children who sign up to learn the ways of the elf from Santa's helper elves will also get a tour of the castle.

Elf recruits will meet Mrs Claus who will help them make a Yuletide name badge, and go on to learn about "elf and safety", and the art of being an elf before graduating with a special certificate. A Christmas market will run on the same dates.

Operations manager at National Trust for Scotland-run Brodie, James Dean, said: "We can’t wait to welcome visitors to Brodie, including Santa and Mrs Claus, in what we are sure will not only be a fun family experience, but events like this also help our charity to protect Brodie Castle and Scotland’s other special places."

The academy will run every Saturday and Sunday from December 7-22. Entry to Christmas at Brodie is £5 for adults and £12 for children – if they are on the good list.
