Emergency services at scene of house blaze

EMERGENCY services are in attendance at a house fire in Elgin.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to a property on Mitchell Crescent in Bishopmill this lunchtime.

Appliances are currently at the scene and working to bring the blaze under control.

A spokesman for the SFRS said: "We were alerted at 1.12pm on Tuesday, July 9 to reports of a fire within a house on Mitchell Crescent in Elgin, Moray.

"Operations Control mobilised a total of six fire appliances and firefighters are currently working to extinguish the flames.

"There are no reported casualties at this time. Crews will remain in attendance until the area is made safe."

The Scottish Ambulance Service was also in attendance and police have cordoned off the area.

Traffic in the area is slow moving with some road closures in place.
