AN EXTRAORDINARY amount of bird faeces has caused the partial closure of an Elgin car park.
The top storey of Batchen Lane Car Park, on South Street, above TK Maxx, was covered with so much bird mess that Moray Council was forced to seal it off.
The site appears to have been cleaned somewhat since last week. However plenty of faeces – and a dead seagull – remain.
No vehicles were able to access the top floor of the usually-busy car park across the weekend, after it was closed off at the end of June.
The council confirmed said the closure is temporary and that the situation is being reviewed.
“Level four of Batchen Lane multi-storey car park will be closed as a short-term measure while Moray Council assesses the matter," a spokesperson said.
