Judged by Wilson Peters, Cuilt Farmhouse, Monzie, the champion was a February-born Limousin cross bullock by Beaumont Pacman, out of a British Blue cross dam and half-brother to last year’s Rising Star Champion from the same family.

The Young Farmers’ champion award went to Finlay Hunter, Wester Cairnhill, Culsalmond, Insch, with a homebred, June-born, Limousin cross bullock by Johnston Premier.

Tim McDonald, Prime and Cull Cattle Manager at Aberdeen & Northern Marts said: “It was great to witness a top-quality show of calves at Thainstone this evening and its encouraging to see the next generation taking part in the competition.

"Well done to the Robertson’s at Fodderletter for winning the championship again and thank you to our sponsors for their continued support.”
