POLICE are growing increasingly concerned for the wellbeing of an Elgin man who went missing over Hogmanay.

Antony Rodgers (57) has not been seen since 7.20pm on Tuesday, December 31. Police believe he may have cycled to Forres that evening.

Antony is described as 5ft 11in, of medium build and has a distinctive scar on the left side of his jaw.

The man is believed to be using a Muddy Fox bicycle, which is black with flashes of blue on the frame and "Muddyfox" in white letters on the side. The bike is fitted with panniers at the rear.

Inspector Michael McKenzie, of Buckie South West Street Station, said: "Antony has been missing since the evening of December 31, 2019, and as time goes by without any contact his family, friends and police are becoming increasing concerned for his welfare.

"He is well known in the Elgin and Forres area and we believe that during the evening of December 31, he may have cycled to the Forres area, leaving Elgin about 8.35pm."

He added: "I would urge anyone who may have seen a man fitting Antony’s description to get in touch with the police.

"If you can assist with any information please contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 0470 of January 1, 2020."
