ELGIN Academy pupils’ "absolutely elite level" exam results left head teacher Kyle Scott with "goosebumps".
In total, 18 S5 pupils achieved straight As at higher - two-thirds of Moray’s 28.
And, across S4 and S6, 39 pupils achieved all As in their qualifications, with pupil Louise Orr achieving all As at Advanced Higher.
Mr Scott said "Ultimately, at Elgin Academy we are proud of all of our young people.
"But on a day like today, you can't help but get goosebumps when you look at them.
“And you can't help but think they are just ace.
"What you are seeing today is obviously the result of absolutely elite level performance.”
The school’s S5 results, he added, were close to an "all-time high" and were "certainly" a record over the past decade.
"They have smashed it and it is amazing,” he said.
"We are just fiercely proud.
"Not just of these individuals, but of everyone."
Ena Saracevic was named the S5 Dux at the Elgin Academy Prizegiving earlier this year.
She received an incredible six Higher As
Ena said: “I didn’t feel any pressure to get such high scores,”
“I knew what I needed to achieve, by the goals I wanted to meet.
“You don’t really need a path yet at this young an age.”
At National 5 level, 21 pupils received six As, with 14 pupils achieving seven As.
And two pupils swept up a staggering eight As at National 5: Keira Smith and Kate McLuckie.
New S5 Keira said she was: “proud to represent her school.”
“Pressure motivates me," she said.
“And if you have these goals, you know what you need to work hard at.”
She added that the secret to her success was a “tight study schedule”.
Kate, who wants to go on to study medicine, said she was “so happy” to receive her outstanding results.
"I felt relief – a lot of relief,” she said.
"Just to see the result was just like a weight had been lifted.
"Then you're straight back into your Highers, so the work carries on.
"But I am excited, and courses have been good so far.”
Anne Malecka received seven As at National 5, as well as an A in her English for Speakers of Other Languages course.
"It definitely feels absolutely amazing, I can't believe it,” She said.
"The effort I put in was definitely worth it.
"I was honestly crying while opening my envelope and shaking so much that I could barely open it.
"I started screaming when I saw the grades, my mum came running up the stairs crying and I started crying more.
"We were both just bawling our eyes out.”
New S5 Andrew Seton said his seven National 5s were “all fine”, but set himself the tougher challenge of overcoming an A-Level Russian qualification – in which he also received an A.
Taking on the two-year course in half the time, he used online courses to achieve the qualification, travelling down to Glasgow for his exam.
He has a personal connection to the language, as his Mum is from Ukraine but grew up in Russia.
Future engineer Andrew said he had been “doubting himself” before receiving his results, but they had taken: "so much weight off my shoulders".
“I’m so glad it is over with," he added.
