Firefighters called out to bring wildfire in Skelbo area under control

A wildfire has broken out on grassland in the Skelbo area, near Dornoch, it has been reported.

Firefighters were called to the scene earlier today and are working to bring the blaze under control.

The wild fire unit from Inverness and the Invergordon fire unit are at the scene.

The wild fire unit from Inverness was summoned along with the fire unit from Invergordon.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the alarm was sounded at around 11am today.

A spokeswoman said that around 400 metres of grassland was affected.
