Flybe deal protects Moray travellers.

Flybe, which operates flights out of both Inverness and Aberdeen airports, has welcomed the rescue plan agreed with the government yesterday.

Ministers will work with the company to hammer out a repayment plan to cover a tax debt which is believed to top £100 million.

Europe’s biggest regional airline had been thought to be on the brink of collapse at the start of this week.

Flybe issued a statement welcoming the support from the Goverment.

Mark Anderson, the airline's CEO, said: "Flybe is made up of an incredible team of people, serving millions of loyal customers who rely on the vital regional connectivity that we provide.

"This is a positive outcome for the UK and will allow us to focus on delivering for our customers and planning for the future."

Flybe operates flights to 52 destinations, including 18 within the UK.
