A FOCHABERS complementary therapist is celebrating after being named the best in the region.
Kerry McKay, of Purity Health Beauty & Well Being, took the award at the North East Hair and Beauty Awards held at The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen in December.
Finalists were announced in October prior to an open public vote, with winners announced on the night.
Speaking after the ceremony, she said: "It fells absolutely amazing, I'm so chuffed to win this award.
"It is all down to my clients' comments so I am so grateful to them for taking time out of their busy schedules to help me achieve this."
Raised in the Moray town, Kerry became interested in natural health and well being as a teenager and graduated with an HND in Complementary Therapies from Moray College UHI in 2004.
She then worked as a massage therapist on the high seas, cruising with Steiner from 2005 to 2006. Back in Scotland, she worked in a number of top golf resorts before a stint with a salon chain in Glasgow.
In 2010, Kerry returned to Moray and established her own business in her home town.
She said: "I love my work. I really enjoy being able to help people get relief from aches and pains, helping them with their health and well being and also getting to know people and hear about their lives."
More than 20 accolades were up for grabs as part of the North East Hair and Beauty Awards, which celebrate those working in the hair and beauty industry within the area.
Kerry has previously been named Best Massage Therapist in the 2016 and 2018 Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards, held in Glasgow.
