A FORRES woman who underwent a mastectomy then refused any further medical treatment has shared her experiences of breast cancer.

Rosie O'Hara (58) used Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) as well as diet and exercise to cope with the "big blip" that played out in early 2009.

A mother and grandmother, she had been for a routine mammogram in the run-up to Christmas 2008; the following month a letter dropped through the door asking her to attend the local breast care unit.

Turning down an option to have the lump removed followed by courses of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, she had her left breast removed and used NLP to "run her own brain" and to do the rest.

"As an NLP trainer, I decided that I should walk the talk," she said.

Mrs O'Hara has written a book in a bid to get women talking about cancer.

The book, published by mxpublishing is available online through Amazon or by contacting Mrs O'Hara at info@nlphighland.co.uk or on 01309 676004.
