Roads maintenance staff from Moray Council have received training so they can help empty the region's bins if required.

.

A council spokesperson said: "We’ve now been able to partially reinstate recycling collections, as we keep safeguarding measures in place for our colleagues and residents.

"We’ve trained 40 of our roads maintenance colleagues in waste collection, so we have resilience in the service if members of the waste team fall ill, are on annual leave, or require to shield or self-isolate.

"We’ll keep the situation under constant review, but want to thank Moray residents for their patience as we make the necessary adjustments to the service.

"We also want to thank our colleagues for their commitment to adapting and undertaking training to ensure we can continue to provide waste and recycling collections."
