FOUR in ten Moray adults have received their first Covid-19 jab, with more than 2000 people in the area now fully vaccinated.

Figures released by Public Health Scotland show that a total of 2914 first jabs have been administered since last Wednesday's update, meaning 39.7 per cent of Moray's adult population has now received a first dose of either the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine.

This totals 31,655 people, or roughly four in ten of those aged 16 plus in Moray.

The number of people to have received a second jab across the area is 2243 (2.8 per cent of adults).

Moray's figures are almost exactly in line with the Scottish average, with 39.8 per cent of adults (1,809,158 people) across the country having received their first jab and 2.9 per cent (132,760 people) having received both.

NHS Grampian, which encompasses Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City, is slightly behind the national average on first doses administered, with 35.8 per cent of the adult population (173,601 people) having been given a first jab. However, 3.8 per cent of the health board's adult population (18,138 people) are fully vaccinated.
