GARMOUTH'S historic Maggie Fair returns.

A previous Maggie Fair: the historic event often features lots of live musical performances.
A previous Maggie Fair: the historic event often features lots of live musical performances.

The unique village event – which has been held annually since 1587 – will host their family fair day this Saturday.

The fair will be officially opened at 1pm by Mr Frank Macaulay at the cross, ahead of the piper-led procession down to the playing field where the afternoon’s fun will take place.

The event will have lots of traditional stalls and attractions, including children’s fancy dress and activities, a classic car show, live music and a hog roast and BBQ tent. There will also be reptile shows, a visit from Speyside Falconry and lots of craft stalls.

The Maggie Fair Day will then be rounded off with evening fun and live music at the Golf Club, with music from The Forty Elephants and catering by the Big Orange.

The family fun day is suitable for all ages and all proceeds will re-invested into local amenities for the benefit of the Community and particularly help towards the upkeep of parks, open spaces, village hall and the iconic Water Tower.
