Moray General Election turnout up on 2017

THE voter turnout in Moray has increased by 1.5 per cent on the 2017 General Election.

Turnout, announced by returning officer Denise Whitworth just after midnight at Elgin Town Hall, is 68.9 per cent – up from 67.4 per cent in 2017, in spite of the ballot being held in winter.

The total number of ballots cast is 48,917, with 14,507 people using a postal vote.
