Get voting in the Moray and Banffshire Heroes awards

VOTING has opened in the Moray and Banffshire Heroes awards.

There are 12 different categories and the winners will be revealed on Thursday, April 20 at Brodie Countryfayre.

A special Hero of Heroes will also be announced on the night.

You have until March 26 to cast your vote.

From 9am on Tuesday, March 7 you can go to www.hnmedia.co.uk/morayheroes/ to support your favourite.

In the Brave Child of the Year (sponsored by Macduff Shipyards), Jacob Shaw (11) and Sarah Walker (15) are both inspirational figures, and have overcome real adversity to achieve great things.

Jacob, who will start at Banff Academy after the summer, has spinabifida and hydrocephalus, and faces all his challenges with a smile on his face.

Sarah, who was diagnosed with hydrocephalus aged eight, has shown great determination and courage.
