On Wednesday, July 10, Elgin Library, in conjunction with Waterstones, will play host to an 'in conversation' event with Ghillie Basan, award-winning author of over 40 cookbooks, and Kirsten Gilmour from Aviemore's Mountain Cafe.

Writer, journalist and broadcaster, Ghillie, has travelled the world to research different cooking traditions. In Spirit & Spice she delves into the Scottish larder, using her knowledge of spices to shine a light on local ingredients.

This latest book is a portrait of a family living and eating in the Highlands using Scotland’s fabulous produce, wild food and whisky. Ghillie traces the stories behind the recipes to paint an inspirational and heartfelt picture of family life in one of the wildest and most beautiful corners of Scotland.

Tickets can be purchased from Elgin Library, or the online shop: https://secure.moray.gov.uk/eshop/home.php.
