So many people across Moray give their time generously, solely for the benefit of others in their community or further afield.

The Moray & Banffshire Heroes Awards will celebrate two such generous individuals with the volunteer and public servant of the year awards.

Sponsoring the public servant of the year award in 2020 is Buckie funeral directors, William R Mair (part of Dignity Funerals).

The award will be presented to an individual who has gone the extra mile in the delivery of their job, making a real difference to their service users, the organisation they work for or the community they work in.

Annette MacDonald, business manager, William R Mair said: “It takes a special kind of person to make a difference in the community. We understand and recognise the importance of acknowledging everyone's efforts throughout the year.

“William R Mair Funeral Directors, Buckie (part of the Dignity Funerals Group) is privileged and honoured to be award sponsors for the public servant category of Moray & Banffshire Heroes Awards 2020 and wish all nominees the very best of luck. We would also like to thank each and every one of you for your valuable contribution throughout the year.

“Community involvement and care are at the very heart of all we do. We are dignity with distinction, you are all heroes by definition.”

Elgin-based construction firm, Robertson Northern, is sponsoring the volunteer of the year award. The volunteer of the year will be an individual who has been beyond generous in volunteering their time and talents to help others.
