Grampian coronavirus figure jumps to 45

THE number of people in Grampian who have tested positive for coronavirus has jumped sharply in a day to 45.

The figure is a rise of 14 on yesterday.

Some 12,273 people have been tested for the virus in Scotland so far, 1059 of which have been positive.

To date, 33 patients have died in Scotland after testing positive.

The official message remains: stay home, protect the NHS, and save lives.

The Scottish Government said yesterday that 1.5 million protective face masks for front-line healthcare workers have been being brought back into use to protect against coronavirus, and that stringent testing had shown these to be safe and effective.
