Attendees are invited to an event at Burghead Community Hall to introduce them to seaglass crafting.

Organised by the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS), the free workshop for over 55’s will take place on Friday, December 15 at 2pm.

Local craft tutor Frances Whyte will guide attendees through creating a seaglass cacti, before the group enjoy free food and refreshments.

The workshop is part of the RVS’s First Time for Everything programme, which gives older people the opportunity to try new activities in their community while boosting their physical and mental health.

The project is supported by the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Laura Chow, People’s Postcode Lottery’s head of charities, said: “First Time for Everything activities are a safe, gentle and enjoyable way to be active and social, which are vital to our health and wellbeing.

“Thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery, local people are enjoying a wide range of interesting activities this year.

“It’s never too late to try something new and to have fun trying.”

Booking is required to attend the workshop as places available are limited.

To book a place for the workshop, contact RVS activity coordinator Sharon Finlay at 07974 415713 or by emailing: sharon.finlay@royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk
