Police Scotland is calling on the public to look out for – and report – incidences of hare coursing.
Rather than a 'sport', the force is labelling it a "brutal crime".
A spokesperson said: "Hares are hunted using dogs, causing a cruel and painful death and damaging rural environments and economies.
"If you see something suspicious, do not approach.
"Take a note of vehicle registrations and exact locations and report to us on 101 or 999 in an emergency."
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.
