The volunteers body tsiMoray has been working with the Scottish Government's National Care Service Design and Implementation Division on local forums and other ways for people to make their views known.

That will include a special forum at The Inkwell in Elgin on Tuesday, August 22.

Elidh Brown, Partnership Development Lead with tsiMoray, said: "tsiMORAY has been working with the team since April to arrange bringing these sessions to Moray.

"We look forward to continuing to work with the team and key third sector organisations and partners in Moray to help ensure people are made aware and can take part in these in-person sessions, or where that's not possible, to engage in the online sessions also being offered by the Scottish Government Team who are taking forward this work."

The sign up for the National Care Service Regional Forums is now live.

There is also a communications toolkit which can be found at NCS Regional Forum Stakeholder Toolkit.

Richard Lochhead, MSP for Moray has encouraged anyone with an interest health and social care services to sign up for the event on August 22.

Mr Lochhead said: “Ensuring that care services in Moray and across the country are sustainable and built to meet the needs of local people is a priority for the Scottish Government. I know just how vital these services are and how much they are valued by those depend on their carers.

“The Scottish Government has been working on plans to develop a National Care Service and these regional meetings, including those held in Elgin, will allow anyone who uses social care services, has a loved one that relies on care, or has worked in the sector, to have their voices heard and to shape how plans progress.

“Generally, there is agreement that transforming social care in Scotland can bring about real benefits both for workers and those who use social care services, and in order to get that transformation right, decision makers need to hear from those with real life experience of the current system.”
