Fabio Villani: working from home but busier than ever.

Fabio Villani and his team may have had to shut their office doors – but they have never been so busy.

In normal times TsiMoray is an organisation which helps local charities and community groups in numerous ways, including getting funds and co-ordinating their efforts.

Now, in the wake of the coronavirus crisis, it has taken on an additional task of passing on information about what help is out there.

Fabio and TsiMoray have had their website specially adapted.

The site now includes a database stating which groups are doing what in 39 different locations right across Moray.

For example, the Aberlour Community Association is dropping off food parcels in the village.

Meanwhile, in its area, the Buckie Kindness Group is chatting over the phone or online, as well as doing food shopping and providing urgent supplies.

Similar examples exist in numerous communities all over Moray, with Roseisle and Portgordon just two other names among the many.

Contact details are provided for each group.

Fabio said: "What we know and what is so inspirational to see is that communities are not waiting to be told or organised in what to do.

"They are doing it for themselves and finding the solutions that work for them.

"This is the kind of community connectedness that will help us all pull through."

Also on the database is information about the various funds available to community groups and charities, such as the Third Sector Resilience Fund, the Wellbeing Fund.

In addition, there is information to help businesses.

Jackie Maclaren, who also works at TsiMoray, said: "In the last month we've seen a record-breaking number of requests for volunteering.

"The response has been nothing short of incredible."
