Antique experts hope to uncover some hidden gems when they host a valuation day on Speyside later this month.

A panel of specialists from Lyon & Turnbull in Edinburgh will be on hand at St Margaret’s Church, Aberlour, on Saturday, May 25.

This follows on from the success of a similar Antiques Valuation Day in late 2016.

People are being encouraged to bring along any items that they are curious about between 11am-3pm on the day. The team will be happy to take a close look and will do their best to provide background information and auction value estimates.

Colin Fraser, of Lyon & Turnbull, said: "Following on from the great success of last time, we are all excited to be back in Aberlour supporting St Margaret’s Church.

"Our last visit brought many exciting finds which owners perhaps did not appreciate the value of or the stories their pieces could tell.

"I am sure we, and the guests, will be in for a few good surprises this time too. I would encourage anybody to come along and find out more about that mystery item long languished at home."

Other specialists lending their expertise will include Trevor Kyle, Theo Burrell, Jamie Russell and Olivia Ross.

The admission price of £5 includes tea, sandwiches and cakes. There will be a charge of £4 per item to be valued or £10 for three items. The money raised will go towards church funds.
