HGV accident sees the A96 closed near Keith

The A96 near Keith in Moray remains closed in both directions as of 7.30pm after a heavy goods vehicle carrying timber overturned on a section of the route to the south-east of the town near Blackhillock.

The incident happened at around 5.25pm this evening with a diversion in place, but it is advised that this is a narrow route and is seeing heavy usage.

Recovery work is now underway in an effort to reopen the road.
