HGV hits pedestrian on road to Birnie in New Elgin

A ROAD out of Elgin will remain closed "for some time" after a HGV hit a pedestrian this morning.

The incident occurred at around 10am on the road leaving New Elgin towards Birnie. No update has been provided on the welfare of the pedestrian.

The road, which runs adjacent to Elgin Golf Course, will remain shut while enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are in attendance following a crash involving a HGV and a pedestrian on Birnie Road in Elgin, which was reported at around 10am on Tuesday, 26 April.

“The road adjacent to the golf course is closed and will be for some time. Enquiries are ongoing."
