FOODIES of the Highlands are in for a treat as a popular street food trail will celebrate its first year with a special event in Inverness.

The Highland Food and Drink Trail – which premiered in the city last year – is set to run a spring launch in the dedicated street food zone next to the River Ness and Inverness Cathedral.

The event will run from Friday, March 31 to Sunday, April 2 and will see at least five different food trucks each day.

Customers and passers by will also be able to enjoy live music from Christopher Guibarell and Dylan James Tierney at the weekend.

Oregano, Redshank, The Angry Seagull, Blazin' Pizza and Juicy Ness are only a few of the businesses which will quench the hungry and thirsty customers.

The trail proved to be very popular since its launch last year, receiving an "overwhelmingly positive" feedback according to its director Douglas Hardie.

The food trail, which is part of the city’s ‘cultural quarter’, is the largest street food event taking place in Inverness city centre.
