Hopeman Pantomime promises night of magic with new show Aladdin
HOPEMAN Amateur Dramatic Society are preparing for a weekend of magic and mystery as they bring their annual pantomime to the stage.
This year's show is Aladdin and features a record breaking 65 cast members aged between 7 and 70. The show is also Director Louise McKnight's first time running the show.
She said: "Last year I co-directed but this year I've written and directed the show on my own. It's very exciting and a real privilege as well. Hopeman panto has got a really good reputation so to be trusted with carrying on that legacy, is a real honour and I hope I do everyone proud."
The show tells the classic tale of Aladdin and features pantomime dames, genies and lots of singing, dancing and audience participation.
Louise said: "Everyone has worked really hard and it should be a pretty fantastic, just come along with your best singing voice and boo and sing and hiss. It's a great chance to forget about everything for a couple of hours and just go on a magical tour to a brand new world."
Performances start tomorrow (Thursday, February 1) at 7pm and will run until Saturday, February 3. Tickets cost £5 per adult and £2 per child and can be purchased at Costcutter Hopeman and Keystore Hopeman.
