A 91-year-old woman has sadly died following a house fire in Hopeman on Sunday afternoon.

A total of eight fire engines and a cherry picker were sent to the scene after the blaze was reported at a house in Clark Street.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergency Services were called to the address at 4.25pm on Sunday afternoon and enquiries are continuing.

"There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
