A CHARITY race night and auction is taking place as part of celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of Dr Gray's Hospital.

Elgin's Bishopmill Hall will host the event, which is being run by craft gin producers el:gin along with the Friends of Dr Gray's.

Money raised at the June 15 celebration will go towards the Friend's campaign to renovate the clock faces on the Elgin hospital's dome.

And as part of the charity night, el:gin are launching a limited edition cherry gin.

Brand ambassador Gary Grant said: "Dr Gray’s is at the heart of our community and this is very much so for the el:gin team.

"Please support Friends of Dr Gray’s with us as we launch this limited edition cherry gin, inspired by the cherry trees that line the entrance to the hospital."

The fundraising event starts at 7pm and tickets, priced £5 including a gin or prosecco cocktail on arrival, are available by emailing info@elgin-gin.co.uk or from the Johnstons of Elgin mill shop.
