Girlguiding Scotland’s Tartan Gig, held at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, rarely disappoints and this year’s event was, by all accounts, the best so far.

When Girlguiding Moray members booked months in advance for the event, they weren’t expecting to see a current chart topper perform.

However, due to Lewis Capaldi’s meteoric rise to fame that was what the girls had in store.

More than 250 girls and leaders from Moray travelled to see the Glasgow-born singer perform his biggest hits to a packed auditorium of 10,000 Brownies, Guides, Rangers and leaders.

During a concert lasting around three hours, the ‘hold me while you wait’ singer was joined by other major acts such as James Arthur and The Vamps.

Emma Robertson (16), from Forres, said: "It was a night to remember with such lively energy from the girls and leaders, but most importantly the bands and acts themselves.

"Tartan Gig 2019 was an amazing experience for all."

Louise Winder, Third Forres Guides leader, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for girls to see top class acts at a superb venue whilst in a safe environment. I always enjoy the day just as much as the girls do."

Guides around Moray are always looking for more members and leaders. Find out how you can get involved at www.girlguiding.org.uk.
