Irish traditional musician and former member of 1970's band Planxty to play at Moray venue

IRISH music legend Andy Irvine is set to take to the stage at Findhorn's Universal Hall on Thursday, October 12 – promising an unforgettable evening of soul-stirring melodies and captivating storytelling.

Hailed as one of the great Irish singers, Andy Irvine's remarkable career as a musician, singer and songwriter has spanned over five decades. Beginning in the mid-1960s with the band Sweeney's Men, and he went on to achieve enormous success as a member of Planxty during the 1970s.

His collaboration with Paul Brady in the late 1970s further solidified his reputation as a musical force to be reckoned with. Irvine's illustrious career continued to evolve as he contributed his talents to various musical endeavors, including Patrick Street, Mozaik, LAPD, and Usher's Island.

As a soloist, Andy fills the role of the archetypal troubadour with a show and a travelling lifestyle that reflect his lifelong influence, Woody Guthrie. His repertoire consists of Irish traditional songs, dexterous Balkan dances and a compelling canon of his own self-penned songs.

The show will begin at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 for General Admission, £13for Concessions and £6 for Under 16’s.

Universal Hall are also offering a free carer/companion ticket for any disabled or wheelchair-user audience members throughout their shows this season. Tickets can be purchased online at https://universalhall.co.uk/ or in person at the Phoenix Shop, Findhorn.
